Target Numbers
About the game and how to play
Target Numbers is a math puzzle of six numbers and one target. Combine the numbers with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to reach the target: pick two numbers and a sign between them and they merge into the result. All six numbers must be used, each exactly once, and every step must give a whole number above zero. A game is five rounds with no time limit — take as long as you like: hit the target exactly for 10 points, and earn points for getting close too. There are easy, medium and hard levels, daily targets that are the same for everyone, and online matches with friends by room code.

How to play
- Choose a level and start a five-round game.
- Tap a number, a sign (+ − × ÷) and a second number — the two merge into the result.
- After five steps one number is left — when it equals the target the round ends; ↶ undoes a wrong step.
- Close but not exact? Press "Done": 5 away scores 7, 10 away scores 5. After the round a way to the target is shown.
Tips
- Look for a product near the target: with 75, 8, 6, 3, 2, 1 and 452, make 75 × 6 = 450, turn the rest into 8 − 3 − 2 − 1 = 2, and add it.
- Keep the large numbers (25, 50, 75, 100) for multiplying and the small ones for fine-tuning.
- Target on the table but numbers left? Use them up harmlessly: multiply by 1, or subtract two equal numbers.
- Combine the large numbers first and keep the small ones for the end — you will need them to fine-tune.
Frequently asked questions
How are points scored in Target Numbers?
Hitting the target exactly is worth 10 points (5 after a hint). Within 5 scores 7 and within 10 scores 5; further away scores nothing. There is no time limit, and five rounds give at most 50 points. In an online match the first three on target get 3, 2 and 1 more.
Do I have to use all the numbers?
Yes. Each of the six numbers must be used exactly once: after five steps the one number left on the table is your answer.
Are fractions or negative numbers allowed?
No. Every step must give a whole number above zero: a division must come out even, and a subtraction must take the smaller number from the bigger one.
Can every target be reached?
Yes — every target is built from all six numbers you are given, so there is always at least one way. After each round that way is shown.
