Flagle
About the game and how to play
Flagle is a daily flag puzzle for geography fans. The flag is hidden under six tiles and you have 6 tries to name the country. Each wrong guess shows the distance, direction and proximity to the answer, and one more tile lifts off the flag.

How to play
- Look at what is uncovered and type a country — every guess lifts one tile.
- After a wrong guess, check the distance, direction and proximity %.
- Use the two hints if you need them: the region, then the first letter.
- Find the country before your 6 tries run out.
Tips
- The flag starts fully covered, so treat your first guess as a location probe: a country in the middle of a large landmass gives a distance and arrow that quickly point you to the right part of the world.
- Read the proximity percentage as a distance scale: 0% is the opposite side of the globe and 100% is the answer, so 90% means roughly 2,000 km away and 95% about 1,000 km.
- Distances are measured between capital cities, not borders. Even a neighbouring country can show a large distance if its capital is far away, so trust the arrow and the number over your mental map.
- Each guess lifts one of six tiles in random order. Before the next guess, check the colours and shapes you can see against the flags of countries in the direction the arrow points.
Frequently asked questions
How does the flag get revealed in Flagle?
Here the flag sits under six tiles, three across and two down. Each guess lifts one tile in random order, and when the round ends the whole flag is shown.
How is the distance between countries worked out?
It is the shortest distance over the globe between the two countries' capital cities, and the compass arrow points from your guess towards the answer. You can switch between kilometres and miles in the settings.
Can I practise flags from just one continent?
Yes. Practice mode lets you choose World, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas or Oceania and play as many rounds as you like. The daily flag is always drawn from all countries, changes at midnight Baku time (UTC+4), and past dailies are in the archive.
Do I have to type country names in English?
No. The search box recognises both the English and the Azerbaijani name of every country, whichever language the site is set to. You also can't enter the same country twice in one round.
