Capitalle
About the game and how to play
Capitalle is a daily geography puzzle about world capitals. A mystery capital is picked and you have 6 tries to find it. Each wrong guess shows the distance, direction and proximity, plus clues about the continent, hemisphere, whether the country is landlocked and its population size.

How to play
- Type the name of any world capital.
- Narrow it down using the distance, direction and other clues.
- Use the two hints if you need them: the region, then the first letter.
- Find the capital before your 6 tries run out.
Tips
- Open with a capital in the middle of a large region, for example in the Middle East or central Africa. The arrow, distance and continent check will then rule out most of the map at once.
- Triangulate: two guesses from different directions pin the answer down to where their distances overlap, which tells you far more than guessing step by step along one arrow.
- Combine the yes/no chips. Hemisphere is set by the capital's latitude, and landlocked countries are rare in some regions (in the Americas only Bolivia and Paraguay), so a 'landlocked' match can end the search early.
- Use Practice mode to learn one continent at a time: Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas or Oceania. The better you know where capitals sit, the more the arrow and distance tell you.
Frequently asked questions
Can I type the country instead of the capital?
No, the answer box searches capital city names, in English or Azerbaijani. Each suggestion shows its country next to it, so you can pick the right city even if you only know the country.
Which city counts for countries with more than one capital?
The game accepts one answer per country: for example Pretoria for South Africa, La Paz for Bolivia, Amsterdam for the Netherlands, Colombo for Sri Lanka and Astana for Kazakhstan.
What does 'landlocked' mean in Capitalle?
It means the country has no coastline on the open sea. Countries whose only coast is on the Caspian Sea, such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, are counted as landlocked here.
How does the population clue work?
Countries are compared by broad population band: under 10 million, 10 to 99 million, and 100 million or more. The arrow shows whether the answer's country is in a bigger or smaller band than your guess, and 'similar size' means the same band, not the same number.
