Domino 101
About the game and how to play
Domino 101 is the online version of one of Azerbaijan’s best-loved table games. Players take turns laying tiles on a matching end of the chain and scoring points; the first to reach 101 wins. Play alone against bots, or create a room and set up an online table with up to 4 friends.

How to play
- Choose a game against bots or an online room: free-for-all or 2v2 teams.
- On your turn, place a matching tile on an open end of the chain; if you cannot, draw from the market.
- Points are counted at the end of each round according to the rules.
- The first to reach 101 wins the game; the tournament goes to whoever first wins the number of games chosen before the start.
Tips
- Shed heavy tiles and doubles early: when someone goes out, every pip left in the losers' hands goes to the winner's score, and a double only fits one number.
- Watch who draws or passes: that player holds neither of the open numbers, so keeping those numbers on the ends can leave them stuck. The normal and hard bots use exactly this against you.
- Count pips before you lay a tile that locks the chain: a blocked hand pays only the lighter side, so close the game only when your hand, or your team's, is the lighter one.
- In 2v2 teams, avoid leaving ends your partner has shown they cannot follow, and early in the match push to reach 13 points so your score is not wiped after three rounds.
Frequently asked questions
What is the 13-point rule in Domino 101?
Each side must collect at least 13 points within its first three rounds. If it does not, its total is reset to zero and the three-round count starts again; once a side has reached 13, the rule no longer applies to it.
What happens when the game is blocked and nobody can play?
When nobody can play and the market is empty, the side with fewer pips left wins the difference between the hands, and the player who laid the last tile opens the next round. If the sides are tied, nobody scores and the points carry over to whoever wins the next hand, doubled if the room turned on Double on tie.
Who opens the first hand, and are there any special deals?
The first hand of a match always opens with the 1-1, which is guaranteed to be dealt to a player. A hand may hold at most five tiles of one number, and five only together with that number's double: six of a number, or five without the double, and the tiles are shuffled and dealt again. A player dealt all seven tiles of one number ends the game at once and is credited with 3 game wins.
Is there a market in the 4-player game?
No. Each player gets 7 of the 28 tiles, so with four players every tile is dealt and you pass when nothing fits; with two players 14 tiles stay in the market. In single-player against one bot you draw two tiles at a time.
How much is a 0-0 worth when it is left in a hand?
A 0-0 left on its own counts 10 points. Next to any other tile it counts nothing: a hand of 0-0, 3-5 and 1-6 is worth 15.
How many games does a tournament last?
Before the start the room's creator picks the number of wins (1, 2, 3 or 5). Each game runs to 101, everyone sees how many games each player has won at the top of the table, and the first to reach the chosen number wins the tournament. A dry win counts as 2, and all seven tiles of one number as 3.
